Stephanie Lynn, Senior Consultant, Research and Engagement, joined StratCom in July 2016 as team lead in the Vancouver office. She brings her commitment to excellence in innovation to StratCom’s projects with clients in British Columbia and Alberta.
Stephanie comes with three decades of experience in politics. She spent the last twenty years as a democracy development practitioner with Democracy International and the National Democratic Institute. In that time, Stephanie worked with heads of state, legislatures, political parties and community activists in over twenty countries in Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe, including Burma, Indonesia and Yugoslavia. She is renowned for her achievements in inclusion, particularly in women’s political engagement.
To join the StratCom team, Stephanie transferred back home to Canada from Bangladesh where she had been running a long-term successful project leveraging research on public and political leaders’ opinions, policy advocacy and skills training to advance the representativeness of major political parties by moving thousands of youth and women into positions of leadership, all against a backdrop of significant political violence.
Prior to her work abroad, Stephanie served for seven years as a Provincial Organizer for the BC NDP and later, as Executive Assistant to Joy MacPhail during her time as Minister of Health and then Finance. She holds a BA (Hons) in Anthropology from the University of British Columbia.
