Strategic Communications wishes you a happy holiday season and continued success in your work in 2019. Happy holidays and Happy New Year!
At Stratcom, we strive to help non-profit organizations make a difference locally, nationally, and globally. Every year we make a donation on behalf of our clients and staff to a non-client charity or not-for-profit organization in each of the communities where we live and work. These donations are decided by vote of our staff in each of our offices.
Our staff in Toronto has chosen Houselink Community Homes. Houselink offers supportive housing and recovery for people living with persistent mental health and addiction issues in Toronto. For more information on our support of affordable housing and efforts to support street-affected people in our city, please see our blog post below.
In Ottawa, our staff has chosen to donate to the animal welfare charity Ottawa Humane Society, which cares for 10,000 animals who are sick, injured or homeless. The programs run by OHS help build a compassionate and empathetic society.
In Vancouver our staff has chosen The Dugout Drop-In Society which provides “a community living room” (a safe space with free daily meals) for people in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
In Brighton, staff are supporting Streetlink, which works to help people living on the street in Brighton & Hove, United Kingdom.
In Edmonton, the Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters will receive our donation. ACWS supports shelters in Alberta, nationally and globally and calls the public to take action against domestic violence.
This year, Stratcom is also pleased to contribute to Reconciliation Canada. We are committed to the reconciliation process in Canada and this donation is part of our efforts towards this integral and necessary work.
It has been an honour to support our clients on all your important causes and campaigns, and we thank you for your hard work and dedication to shaping a better world. We look forward to continuing this work with you in the New Year.
We hope you have a restful holiday with your loved ones, and all the best for 2019.
Sincerely,
