Tom Siegel
After starting his career in fundraising as a door to door canvasser for the nation’s largest anti-nuclear organization, Mr. Siegel went on to work as an account director for Facter Direct, a leading direct marketing fundraising agency serving the non-profit sector. In 2008, Mr. Siegel bought Facter Direct and served as its CEO until 2020. During his tenure at Facter Direct, which he renamed the Donor Services Group, Mr. Siegel proceeded to diversify the company’s product offerings, eventually creating unique applications designed to address donors at each level along the pyramid of giving from planned giving and major gifts to mid-level monthly sustainer and upgrade programs to new donor acquisition.
As part of its efforts to provide its clients with more cost-effective new donor acquisition opportunities, Mr. Siegel started DSG2, the first ever non-profit telemarketing list Co-op. Over the years, the Donor Services Group, along with DSG2 and its other sister companies, worked with over 200 well-known national and international non-profit organizations and political candidates and raised hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of charities, non-profit organizations and political candidates.
After a career in fundraising spanning more than 38 years, Mr. Siegel sold the Donor Services Group and its sister companies in April 2020 and now works as an independent consultant specializing in the design and implementation of creative, forward-thinking marketing and fundraising solutions for non-profit organizations, agencies that serve the non-profit sector and commercial companies looking for innovative direct to consumer marketing opportunities.
