With DSG’s sale in March, Tom and Theresa have now agreed to join forces with Stratcom to help U.S. organizations that need specialized high-end, high-value programs. “While Stratcom has 20 years of experience in U.S. work, having such experienced US senior fundraisers supporting our efforts, will bring added value and added success to our clients”, said Stratcom CEO Bob Penner. “We are thrilled to have them aboard”.

After starting his career in fundraising as a door to door canvasser for the nation’s largest anti-nuclear organization, Mr. Siegel went on to work as an account director for Facter Direct, a leading direct marketing fundraising agency serving the non-profit sector. In 2008, Mr. Siegel bought Facter Direct and served as its CEO until 2020. During his tenure at Facter Direct, which he renamed the Donor Services Group, Mr. Siegel proceeded to diversify the company’s product offerings, eventually creating unique applications designed to address donors at each level along the pyramid of giving from planned giving and major gifts to mid-level monthly sustainer and upgrade programs to new donor acquisition.
As part of its efforts to provide its clients with more cost-effective new donor acquisition opportunities, Mr. Siegel started DSG2, the first ever non-profit telemarketing list Co-op. Over the years, the Donor Services Group, along with DSG2 and its other sister companies, worked with over 200 well-known national and international non-profit organizations and political candidates and raised hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of charities, non-profit organizations and political candidates.
After a career in fundraising spanning more than 38 years, Mr. Siegel sold the Donor Services Group and its sister companies in April 2020 and now works as an independent consultant specializing in the design and implementation of creative, forward-thinking marketing and fundraising solutions for non-profit organizations, agencies that serve the non-profit sector and commercial companies looking for innovative direct to consumer marketing opportunities.
Theresa Curran has over 20 years of direct marketing fundraising experience, working in senior capacities at several telefundraising agencies. She has applied her broad experience in management, strategic planning, client services and operations to deliver successful results for many national non-profit organizations.
As Executive Vice President at Donor Services Group, Theresa oversaw the client services team and the midrange cultivation division of the company. Theresa was a founding partner in Covenant Calls, a Massachusetts-based company specializing in cultivation of planned and major ($25K+) gift prospects. The program focus was one-on-one conversations with high-value donors to discover interest and capacity to make bequest and major gifts.
Some of the clients Theresa has worked with include the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, The Nature Conservancy, ACLU, American Indian College Fund, Save the Children, World Wildlife Fund, AARP Foundation, League of Women Voters, The Sierra Club, Mercy Corps, Project Hope, Oxfam, Unicef, Anti-Defamation League, and Special Olympics International.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Theresa lives in Harvard, MA with her husband Robert. Theresa grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, still her second home, and spends lots of time visiting her dad and six sisters.
