David has been associated with Stratcom since 1997. During that time he has directed research, strategic and program planning, and developed communications campaigns in diverse issue areas, including: regulation of the legal professions, public education, union organization, collective bargaining, privatizations of public services, child and youth mental health issues, immigrant women’s services, domestic violence, food security, the Oil Sands development, cycling and active transportation.
David has led projects for a wide variety of clients, recently including Law Society of Upper Canada, Unifor, Manitoba Association of Health Care Professionals, Waterfront Regeneration Trust, Toronto Community Benefits Network and Share the Road Cycling Coalition.
For more than a decade David has specialized in designing and leading qualitative research projects comprised of key informant interviews, in-person and online focus groups, stakeholder and community consultations. His ability to understand and communicate complex issues, his unwavering respect for participants, enthusiasm for the research process, and his skills as a moderator and writer, invariably yield valuable results.
David holds a Master’s Degree in Sociology from McMaster University. He has also completed many courses in survey design, qualitative research, and facilitated planning.
