Welcome to the Neighbourhood
Affordable housing is the practical and feasible solution to the housing crisis that confronts Toronto and virtually every major city in Canada. For more than two decades, Stratcom has been proud to support community organizations and progressive politicians campaigning for secure housing for residents of Toronto and across Canada.
But while affordable housing and expanded health and social services are the only meaningful long term solutions to this growing crisis, the City of Toronto has taken some small but important steps to support those experiencing homelessness – here and now. As we enter the coldest months of the year, respite centres are being set up in Toronto, including one right across the road from our Toronto office, at Lamport Stadium, managed by the St. Felix Centre.
Stratcom is pleased to join with others in the Toronto Carpet Factory community in welcoming St. Felix and the residents of the respite centre. Our company and our staff team will do all we can to support the donation drive launched by the TFC management for toiletries, winter clothing and gift cards.
If you would like to participate you can drop your donation at Suite 100, 67 Mowat Ave. or around the corner at the Stratcom office at 1179 King St W, Suite 202. And if you have a few minutes after you have dropped off your donation make a call to Mayor John Tory’s office (416 397-2489) and ask for an update on the Mayor’s plan to build 40,000 affordable housing units.
Stratcom encourages every resident and business in the Liberty Village neighbourhood to reach out and extend a heartfelt welcome to our new neighbours at the respite center.
