Welcoming Brian Roy to Stratcom UK: A New Chapter in Progressive Campaign Leadership

We are thrilled to announce that Brian Roy, a distinguished senior figure in the UK and Scottish Labour Party, has joined Stratcom UK as a Senior Associate. Brian brings over two decades of invaluable experience in political and public policy campaigning, along with a deep understanding of media, communications and the labour and trade union movement across the UK.

The appointment, given his experience, is particularly notable during the year in which a UK General Election will take place and in the context of increasing attacks on workers’ rights, and industrial action as a result. As part of the wider Stratcom team, Brian will work with our existing and future clients in the political and trade union space, to give them the tools they need to win.

Brian’s career includes collaboration with four UK Labour Leaders and seven Scottish Labour Leaders, spearheading the strategic planning and execution of numerous local and national election campaigns. His impact and influence is found in key historic elections, such as the Scottish and European Referendums, and UK General Elections in 2010, 2015, and 2017. Brian’s impact was particularly seen in the modernisation of campaigning culture and techniques in Scotland, emphasising the strategic use of digital technology and a data-driven understanding of key target voter groups.

Brian’s strategic counsel at the highest levels of politics and the public sector in Scotland, combined with his role as General Secretary of the Scottish Labour Party, has shaped his expertise in campaigns, policy research and development, communication strategies, and membership engagement.
